Q. What is CPWI?
A. “CPWI”™ - Certified Pipeline Welding Inspector (Transmission and Distribution Pipelines)
     “CPWI”™ - Certified Plant Welding Inspector (Plant and Process Piping)
     “CPWI+”™ - Same as above, including “Hands-on” training in the new facility later this year.

Q. Do you need any welding experience to attend the class?
A. No experience is required to attend the class; however, companies you wish to apply to may/may not require field experience

Q. How much does the CPWI course cost, including the test and course materials?
A. The fee for the course is $850 which includes everything needed to gain certification.

Q. What do I need to bring to the class?
A. You will need a basic calculator and if you would like to take any notes during the course you will need to bring a pen or pencil and paper.  We will provide a No. 2 pencil for the exam.

Q.  How do I pay for the course?
A.  We accept payment in the form of credit card, check, or money orders.  To pay with a credit card, you must call (979) 251-9000.  All check and money orders must be made out to “National Welding Inspection School” and can be mailed to:

Q. When is the next school?
A.  The schedule is located on the homepage at www.nationalwelding.com and is updated regularly.

Q.  Where is the class held?
A.  The class is held at the Washington County Fair Grounds Event Center in Brenham, TX.  The physical address is 1305 East Blue Bell Road, Brenham, TX 77833-2436. 

Q. Is NWIS associated with the American Welding Society (AWS)?
A.  No, we are not affiliated with AWS.  We specialize in “Pipeline and Plant Welding Inspection Training” only, while AWS offers training for all construction fields.

Q. When will you have more pipe gauges, film interpretation ruler, and pocket shields?
A.  Pipe gauges and pocket shields will be ready mid-June 2012. The film interpretation rulers are available for purchase now.  Also, we have the pocket sized Welding Inspector’s Handbook and Welding Inspector’s Handbook for In-Service Welding available for purchase on our website.
